Following left knee replacement surgery in July, I am now
scheduled to have my right knee replaced in November.
I will resume workshops as soon as I am fully mobile,

MoonChild Mosaics Courses and Workshops
Learn how to mosaic with me at my home studio in Cross Hills, half-way between Keighley and Skipton. Immerse yourself in a world of vibrant jewel-like colours and textures. Discover how to select and cut the right materials to achieve the desired finish. Enjoy repurposing vintage china and find out how to mix it with stained glass and ceramic tiles to create your own unique hand-crafted mosaics.
I am friendly and supportive and will provide a health & safety briefing, step-by-step tuition, lots of ideas and inspiration and unlimited tea, coffee and biscuits. I cater for complete beginners who may want to come along and have a go using a variety of interesting materials, and also for people with more experience. My courses are suitable for both adults and older children.
Ideally my studio can accommodate between one and four people at a time, although I could fit in one additional person if you booked together as a group and didn’t mind being a bit squashed!
£35 per person for a 3-hour half-day session
£60 per person for a 6-hour full day
The cost includes all materials and use of equipment. I have vast array of beautiful vintage china, hundreds of colourful glass and ceramic mosaic tiles and a plentiful supply of gorgeous stained glass for you to use along with a wide range of pre-cut shapes and base boards. There is also a good selection of mosaic books and examples of my own work to inspire you. I will take you step-by-step through the process so that in a half-day session, even with no previous experience, you will be able to produce a mosaic you will love.
I offer half and full-day courses on two or three Saturdays in each month.
In addition to these set dates I would be very happy to arrange a full or half-day course on a weekday or a Sunday at a time that suits us both. I can be flexible and would love to hear from you so if, you would like to come along, either by yourself or with a small group of friends, please contact me by phone or email or use the form on my contact page and we can arrange a mutually suitable date.
Half day courses last for three hours
from 9:30-12:30 and 1:30-4:30

Full-day courses last for six hours
from 9:30-4:30 with a break for lunch.
There are some things you need to know before booking a course ......
Please note, my studio is in the basement of my house down a steep flight of steps. There is a garden entrance, but that too has steps down to the door. I regret, therefore, that the premises are not suitable for wheelchair access.
I do most of my mosaic-making standing up as I find this helps my back and knees and makes it easier to move around the studio to use the sink or the grinder. My workbench is therefore at breakfast bar height with bar stools for sitting
If you are coming on a full day course you will need to bring your lunch with you or, alternatively, there is a good range of cafes, sandwich shops and a Co-op very nearby.
I will provide tea, coffee and biscuits at frequent intervals throughout the day.

You will need to wear comfortable, old clothes and flat shoes (no sandals or flip-flops!)
